Check Your CCTV for Vital Evidence
Reviewing your CCTV footage is crucial for gathering essential evidence. It helps in identifying suspects and understanding events as they unfold. Regular checks ensure you capture any important details, providing clarity in investigations and peace of mind.
The work of Evidential Forensics has supported hundreds of criminal and civil cases across the UK — from serious violent crime to fraud investigations, road traffic incidents, and identity disputes. Below are examples of how our forensic imagery expertise has made a difference in court.
Real Cases. Real Results. Court-Tested Expertise.
R -v MT et al – CCTV Enhancement Supports Crown Court Assault Conviction
Working with police and CPS, we enhanced nighttime CCTV footage to clearly identify the suspect’s movements and interactions. The clarified imagery formed part of the prosecution’s primary visual evidence and was accepted by the court as admissible and reliable.
R -v- AP – Defence Instruction Challenges object ID in Robbery Case
Instructed by a defence solicitor, we conducted a object comparison which highlighted inconsistencies between the seized weapon and the object shown in CCTV footage. Our independent report contributed to a not guilty verdict, raising doubt about the reliability of the original identification.
R -v- RT – Photogrammetry Used to Disprove Presence at Scene
Using reference markers and perspective correction, we calculated the suspect’s height from CCTV footage. Our findings showed a mismatch with the prosecution’s description, assisting the defence in demonstrating mistaken identity.
R -v- DC et al – Sequence of Events Clarifies Timeline in Public Disorder Incident
Our experts synchronised multiple CCTV sources from a transport hub to reconstruct an accurate timeline. This reconstruction helped resolve contradictory witness statements and led to the correct identification of individuals responsible.
These case studies reflect our balanced approach: we work equally for prosecution and defence, always upholding the independence required of expert witnesses.
